What Can Keep Your From Renting Your Next Apartment
There are a few items that will make it extremely difficult for you to rent an apartment home. Many renters will spend enormous amounts of time touring and applying at different apartment homes only to find out that they are constantly denied. If you are denied at a property based upon something other than income stipulations, stop submitting applications at apartment communities.

Most larger complexes have a specific set of rules and regulations that they abide by.  So read on to find out how they determine if you will be approved or denied.

Credit Score

Many renters believe that their credit score is the main determinant of approval or denial. This is simply not the case. A credit score is more likely used in determining interest rates on loans. Although having a stellar credit score is a reflection on your habits, its not too important.

No Rental History

Some communities will absolutely require that you have rental history. If your a first time renter you might need a co-signer to help you build some credit. If your renting for the first time, ask the apartment manager if you will be automatically denied. But don’t worry too much, there are plenty of apartment homes that don’t require good rental history.

And its possible if you pay two month’s rent in advance, a landlord might be willing to accept you. Just be sure you bring the following up.

Bad Rental History

This usually will be one of the first items that will normally automatically result in your application denial. Landlords don’t want renters who don’t pay their rent on time or break their leases. Generally individuals who follow this pattern will have rental problems for an extended period of time.

Most apartments will run a complete background check. If you have been consistently late or have been previously evicted from a community in the past, your probability for denial will be high. If you are honest with the community of front you will be doing a favor for yourself.

Criminal Background

Apartments will have differing rules usually based upon the type of crime and the amount of time that has past by since it was committed. If your dealing with a felony, the amount of communities that will accept you be decline immediately. You will most likely need to contact an apartment locator or work with a landlord who oversees a few properties.
